FAMILY & PHILOSOPHY

Hospitality and warmth in a family atmosphere are our values under which we have been successfully managing our medium-sized hotels for more than 20 years in order to offer our guests, whether young or old - private or business, an unforgettable stay.

In addition to high living comfort and the unique wellness and well-being landscapes, the focus is on personal service and personal care for our guests in order to exceed the constantly increasing individual wishes and expectations of guests as hosts.

This can only be achieved if we exemplify and convey these values to our team on a daily basis and each and every one of our team members brings in their natural personality and creativity.

Each and every one of our contributors bears responsibility for the team and our actions, both internally and externally, in order to cater to the wishes and needs of our guests individually to make their stay unique.

This feeling of well-being and comfort paired with our individual service makes the guest a "friend of the house".

Friendly, honest, warm, fair and respectful with these words we express our values with which we also encounter our environment and nature and try to transfer these values to our team and society in the long term and sustainably with the daily example.

HISTORY

A little insight into the history of our house

Before today's spa hotel, the first bath houses with outbuildings, including a kitchen and cellar, were built in the 14th century under the direction of the duchess of Katzenelnbogen.

After several extensions and renovations, the first Lahn building was built under earl Wilhelm of Hessen, which at the time reached directly the verge of the Lahn and delimited it to the north. In the next few years, the Lahn was pushed further south so there was room for today's Kursaal with its arcades as well as the kurgarden and other buildings facing the Lahn were built.

In 1709, the plans of new and rebuilding planned by the late Dutchess Albertine of Nassau were carried out, including the main wing of the hotel, which is still preserved today and which since then bore the name “Princely Oranien Nassauisches Bathhouse”. The individual buildings were connected to one another through ongoing construction activities in the 18th century, whereby the architects attached great importance to the harmony of the external appearance, so that today's spa hotel resembles a baroque palace complex, with a central wing, two side wings and a courtyard.

The Karlsruhe architect Vitalli gave the Kurhaus and therefore today's Häcker's Grand Hotel its present form in the years 1912-13. The east wing (imperial wing) remained practically unchanged.

For over 10 years we have been running the historic hotel successfully as a family and in a warm atmosphere and we look forward to welcoming you as your hosts.

The hotel gained European historical significance through the spa stays of the Russian Tsar's court and the Prussian King Wilhelm I. His meeting with the French ambassador Benedetti directly in front of the hotel led to the “Emser Depesche” on July 13, 1870 and thus to the outbreak of the French-German War.
